Jon W. Allan
Jon W. Allan has built his career around analytical insight, regulatory and legislative policy, environmental and natural resource management, and strategy development. Recently he has turned his focus to the intersection of ecological, economic, social and cultural value(s) of water and natural resources. Previously, Jon spent a number of years as Director of Michigan’s Office of the Great Lakes contributing his considerable experience in aquatic science and natural resource management to their mission to protect, restore, and sustain the Great Lakes system which contains over 90 percent of the nation’s and 20 percent of the world's fresh water. He has extensive regional and national water management and governance experience having studied, advised, and led myriad collaborative governance organizations. Prior to that, Jon served in executive management positions in corporate environmental and energy management, government and regulatory affairs, and strategy. He holds a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife, a MS in Aquatic Ecology and Zoology from MSU, and has completed considerable additional graduate work in Environmental Policy and Law.
